Yes, last year’s conference showed Android L, and this year we wait for Android M. As last time, the company had revealed Android L, and Android Lollipop the full name was only revealed later. Google is following the same pattern this year it seems and Android M means that this will be a developer preview. So the guess game is going on what will be the real stand.
So the big G has disclosed the schedule for its I/O event to be held later this month around 28 May and official schedule should be now available on the I/O 2015 site. Of course, the biggest and most awaited announcement from the Google I/O conference is the new Android OS . Android is enjoying an 81 percent share in the global market for smartphones, while iOS represents just 15 percent.
One of the sessions called ‘Android for Work Update’ says,
Android M is bringing the power of Android to all kinds of workplaces.
The Android for Work session, Hands-free apps Google Cast aka Google’s Chrome Cast, Android Auto session and video chat for web iOS and Android session etc are seems to be the main focus of M .
For the M, I am guessing for Macaroon or Marshmallow right now because it strikes me as a more dreamy and colorful. Anyways Google is offering this time more privacy for its users.
To address privacy concerns, Google is reportedly giving users more control over what apps have access to, like location, contacts and photos. Currently, Android informs users as to what information an app requires access to before starting an installation. If a user is not comfortable allowing so many permissions for an app, they can cancel an installation. and this is what I personally hate.
With the new settings, users don’t have to deal with all-or-nothing situations as they can choose separate permissions that can be granted to an app. So Im pretty much excited for a great experience this time.
